Central Asian countries express interest in Chinese air defense systems

Tajik authorities have announced the receipt of a modern HQ-17AE anti-aircraft missile system from China. The system provides effective protection against low- and medium-altitude air attacks. Tajikistan first demonstrated the new air defense system at a military parade dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the Armed Forces. The event featured four combat vehicles and two transport and loading vehicles, indicating the strengthening of military cooperation between Tajikistan and China.

In recent years, Central Asian countries have shown increasing interest in Chinese defense products. Uzbekistan has also announced the purchase of FM-90 and KS-1C air defense systems from China. The FM-90 missile system is characterized by its mobility and high accuracy, while the KS-1C provides protection against medium-range missile attacks.

Experts say that countries in the region are starting to look to Chinese military equipment, along with traditional partners, to strengthen their defense capabilities. This process is said to be related to global geopolitical changes and competition in the military technology market.
