Carrefour was forced to close all its stores in Jordan due to the boycott

Retail chain Carrefour has announced that it will close all of its branches in Jordan from Monday. The decision comes amid growing boycott campaigns in response to the company's support for the Israeli occupation.
Carrefour Jordan confirmed in an official statement on its Facebook page that it will cease all operations in the Kingdom, thanking customers for their support and expressing regret for any inconvenience caused by the decision.
The decision to close follows unsuccessful attempts by Carrefour Jordan, owned by the UAE's Majid Al Futtaim Group, to change its brand name to circumvent a boycott that has been ongoing for more than a year.
The escalation of the boycott led to the gradual closure of several branches of Carrefour in Jordan.
The boycott movement called the decision "a victory for the Jordanian people." The movement called for severing ties with Carrefour, abandoning the brand and banning the sale of its products in local stores.
A poll conducted by the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan found that more than 90 percent of respondents supported the boycott. This indicates a broad solidarity among Jordanians for the campaign's goals, as opposed to the country's government, which directly and indirectly supports Israel.
