British imams reconcile with Zionists
As Israel's war against Palestine continues, several Muslim imams in Britain have signed a reconciliation agreement with prominent Zionists.
Among the signatories to the agreement are Leeds Imam Qari Asim, former military chaplain Imam Asim, and Dr. Saeed Razavi, a representative of the Ahlul Bayt Society of Scotland. The agreement was also signed by the Chief Rabbi of Great Britain, Ephraim Mirvis, who has been an outspoken supporter of Israel's actions.
The document, called the "Muslim-Jewish Reconciliation Agreement," was signed by imams and representatives of the Jewish community and presented to King Charles at Buckingham Palace. The parties expressed their commitment to strengthening dialogue and interfaith cooperation.
In a context of ongoing attacks on Palestinians, it is important for Muslim community leaders to remain true to their values and maintain a strong stance against oppression. While interfaith dialogue is important, it should not be used to legitimize or justify oppression.
