Britain begins preparations for possible Russian attack
The British government is preparing for a possible Russian military attack and is working on a new wartime contingency plan, the first review of the plan since 2005, The Telegraph reports.
It is reported that the document is called the "National Defense Plan" and sets out the order of actions to be taken in the first days of the conflict.
In particular, the document describes what measures the government should take in the event of a declaration of war, how to govern the country in a state of war, and the procedure for using bunkers, railway and road infrastructure, civilian fleets, postal and telephone networks, designed to protect cabinet members and the royal family.
The plan also addresses issues related to organizing media activities and mobilizing necessary resources.
The document also presents several conflict initiation scenarios, including an attack on the UK using conventional or nuclear missiles, and a cyberwarfare scenario that was not relevant in 2005 but is now covered in detail.
