EU countries will not deliver the promised 1 million shells to Ukraine. This was announced by Joseph Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, TASS writes.

"When the war started in Ukraine, we promised to deliver 1 million shells to Ukraine without knowing whether we could do it or not. And then it turned out that we couldn't. We failed to fulfill this task," said Joseph Borrell.

He noted that the European Union has significantly increased the production of ammunition, but they are still not enough to replenish the stock of our army.

"We are far from being able to provide Ukraine with all the support it needs to overcome potential conflicts and, first of all, to prepare for tomorrow with the help of future technologies," admitted the head of the European Foreign Policy Court.

"No, we are not on the path to war, because we are not at war and we do not want to fight. But we are still not sufficiently aware of the geopolitical situation in which we live. And Draghi (referring to Mario Draghi, former prime minister of Italy, former head of the European Central Bank - Azon Global) just said in his report that we have a very important technology gap at a time when the geopolitical context is becoming very dangerous," he added.

Last week, Mario Draghi, the former prime minister of Italy and former head of the European Central Bank, presented a report on the future of EU competitiveness. It states that if nothing changes, the EU will face a gradual death throes. He noted that if the EU wants to catch up with the US and China, it will need additional investments of up to 800 billion euros per year. That's more than double what Europe invested in post-World War II recovery.

"We have already been saying that economic growth is slowing down in Europe, but we have been ignored," said Draghi. "We lost our main supplier of cheap energy. Now we have to invest in defense for the first time since the end of World War II."
