Belarus got a nuclear bomb
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko confirmed for the first time that several dozen nuclear warheads are located on the territory of the republic. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko confirmed for the first time that several dozen nuclear warheads are located on the territory of the republic.
"I brought here dozens of nuclear warheads. A lot of people think it's a joke, but they delivered. If the West thinks it's a joke, they just missed the moment," said Lukashenko. According to him, the deployment of nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus is of strategic importance for the security of Russia and the allied state of Belarus.
Lukashenko also noted that he personally appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus to protect against possible aggression.
"If, God forbid, I decide to use them, I will not hesitate if there is an aggression against Belarus," said Lukashenko.
His statement was made in response to a question about the placement of the Oreshnik missile complex on the territory of Belarus, as Russian President Vladimir Putin clarified earlier. In late November, Moscow used the Oreshnik to strike Ukraine's Yuzhmash plant in the Dnieper. Putin said the attack was in response to the Ukrainian military's use of Western long-range ATASMS and Storm Shadow missiles to strike the Bryansk and Kursk regions.
In addition, Lukashenko said that Syria has become a testing ground for world powers. At the same time, the politician called the overthrow of the Assad regime a lesson for Belarus.
"Now the struggle for power begins. The main players of the world are fighting in Syria. This is a lesson for us. We must determine our own destiny. We must save our country!" - he said.
The Assad regime in Syria fell on December 8 when Syrian opposition forces entered Damascus and the head of the regime fled to Moscow. Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham forces later took control of all of central Syria, as well as Latakia, home to Russia's Tartus and Khmeimim military bases.
