Iranian-backed groups in Syria have carried out at least 83 attacks on US bases in the past month using surface-to-surface weapons and kamikaze drones of unknown origin.

Attacks on US bases in Syria have intensified over the past month.

According to Anadolu, in the past month, at least 83 missiles and drones were attacked on 6 US bases in Hasakah, Deir-ez-Zor and Homs with a difference of about a day in 20 different cases.

The attacks targeted the Conico gas plant and Umar oil field in Deir ez-Zor, where American troops are stationed, the Seddadi, Hima and Harab Jir bases in Hasaka, and the At-Tanf base in Homs.

Although American air defense systems have destroyed most of the missiles and drones in the air before they hit their targets, a small number of missiles and drones have reached the barriers of bases installed for defense.

In response to these attacks, US forces have occasionally targeted convoys crossing into Syria from Iraq, as well as the positions of Iranian-backed groups in the areas of Elbukemal and Elmeyadin on the west bank of the Euphrates River.

On January 15, a US soldier was wounded as a result of a rocket attack on the Koniko gas plant in Deir ez-Zor.

Sabrina Singh, deputy press secretary of the Pentagon, said that from October 17, 2023 to January 18, 2024, a total of 140 attacks were carried out on US bases in Iraq and Syria.

Singh shared information that 57 attacks were carried out in Iraq and 83 in Syria.

According to some sources, Iranian-controlled groups have been "ordered" to stop attacks on US bases.
