Amnesty International accused Israel of genocide

A new report by human rights activists Amnesty International has accused Israel of genocide against the Palestinian people. "Amnesty International has once again presented a completely false and fabricated report based on slander," Israel's Foreign Ministry protested.

Human rights activists Amnesty International has accused the Israeli government of genocide against the Palestinians in a new report.

The authors of the report "carefully and comprehensively" studied the actions of TsAXAL in the Gaza Strip, the number of dead and wounded, as well as the scale of the destruction during military operations.

"We can only come to one reasonable conclusion: Israel's objective is to physically destroy the Palestinians in Gaza, regardless of whether it is being carried out in parallel with the military objective of destroying Hamas or as a means to that end," said Agnes Callamard, head of Amnesty International.

The report called Hamas' attack on Israeli civilians on October 7, 2023 a "bloody" and "horrific crime". At the same time, the deliberate mass killings and hostage-taking "in no way justify Israel's genocide of Palestinians in Gaza," the report's authors said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel commented on the conclusions of human rights defenders. "Amnesty International has once again presented a completely false and fabricated report based on slander," the ministry said in a statement.

In mid-November, the human rights organization Human Rights Watch also published its report on the fighting in the Gaza Strip. Its drafters accused Israel of mass displacement of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Israeli officials have denied the accusations.

On November 21, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant. According to them, he may be involved in war crimes in the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu and his associates were supported by the Israeli opposition and US officials.
