After Russian strikes, Britain sent air defense missiles to Ukraine
Britain is reportedly sending more air defense missiles to Ukraine after Russia launched a large-scale missile strike against Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense announced that about 200 weapons will be delivered.
At least 30 people were killed in the attack, the biggest since the start of the war, according to Ukrainian officials.
British Defense Minister Grant Shapps said the package shows Britain is "absolutely committed to supporting Ukraine." Shapps also called the Ukrainian military's simultaneous launch of 158 missiles and drones at a number of cities "murderous."
According to information, more than 160 people were injured in cities such as Kyiv, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Lviv.
The defense minister said it was a "desperate and futile attempt to restore power before the disgrace of the 'three-day war', which killed hundreds of thousands of soldiers."
He said the package would boost UK-provided air defense systems capable of shooting down Russian drones and missiles with "unbelievable precision".
The supply is intended to protect civilians and infrastructure from drones and bombings.
The advanced short-range air-to-air missiles are designed to be launched from aircraft, and the Defense Ministry said Ukrainian operators were trained to use the weapon.
The MoD added that the UK so far has a squadron of Challenger 2 main battle tanks worth a total of £4.6 billion, three batteries of AS90 self-propelled guns, hundreds of armored and protected vehicles and long-range precision strike vehicles in the form of Storm Shadow and cruise missiles. and supplied long-range strike drones.
