A new wave of Rohingya refugees is entering Bangladesh

A new flow of Rohingya refugees has entered Bangladesh from Myanmar , where the fighting between the military and the rebel Arakan army has escalated in the western Rakhine state , Al Jazeera reports .

According to Doctors Without Borders, 39 people with shrapnel and gunshot wounds have arrived at the Cox's Bazar refugee camp in recent days. Almost half of the victims are women and children. Doctors said that since the beginning of the year, wounded people were not coming to the camp.

"Regarding the number of injured refugees who have crossed the border in the past few days, the nature of their injuries indicates an armed conflict. It is clear that the living space for Rohingya civilians in Myanmar is shrinking day by day, people are being drawn into the fighting and forced to flee to Bangladesh for safety," said Orla Murphy of Doctors Without Borders .

In 2017, 750,000 Rohingya fled to Bangladesh, and those who remained in their homelands mostly live in camps and are restricted in their movement .
