A federal judge in the US has blocked Trump's decision to stop accepting international students at Harvard University.

Federal Judge Ellison Burroughs in Boston, USA, has temporarily suspended the order sent to Harvard University yesterday by the US Department of Homeland Security.

Earlier, the Trump administration had issued an order to halt Harvard University's admissions to international students. Judge Burroughs decided to stay the order "until additional information and documents are provided regarding the process."

This decision was made after Harvard University filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration.

Harvard University, known for its pro-Palestinian protests, has filed a complaint in federal court against President Trump's administration's decision to suspend the university's international student admissions program, citing "failure to comply with applicable law."

The complaint states that this decision violates the US Constitution.

The conflict between Trump and Harvard

The federal government has threatened to cut off federal funding, including to Harvard University, mainly over student protests in support of Palestine and its diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.

In this process, the "Task Force on Combating Antisemitism" was established in cooperation with the US Department of Justice, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education, and the Civil Service Administration.

The Trump administration had previously decided to freeze $2.2 billion in funding and $60 million in contracts allocated to Harvard, and the university considered this decision illegal and filed a lawsuit to overturn it.
