The British general, owner of the Order of the British Empire, Charlie Herbert, was returned to his homeland from Afghanistan due to the alcohol scandal, the Daily Mail reports .

It is noted that Herbert spent several years coaching officials under President Ashraf Ghani, who was ousted when the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan.

According to the publication, Herbert ended his service in this Muslim country three months early due to a complaint against him. The name of the person who was dissatisfied with the behavior of the general was not disclosed. Complainant reported several inappropriate behaviors on the part of Herbert .

The man allegedly insulted colleagues, threw a party at the British Embassy and openly drank alcohol with his Afghan colleagues. However, according to the results of the investigation, only one episode was proven - the case of drinking a bottle of champagne with colleagues at work.
