"We are all in the same boat..."

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The example of the righteous who abide by the limits of Allah and encourage others to do the same, and those who do not refrain from evil, is like a group of people who board a ship. Some of them are placed on the top of the ship and some on the bottom. When those on the bottom need water, they pass by those on the top. Then they say, ‘Why don’t we make a hole in our part (of the ship) so that we don’t disturb those on the top?’ If those on the top do not stop them from doing so, they and they will perish. If they are prevented, all of them will be saved.” (Bukhari) That is, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) likened the world or any society to a ship, and people to its passengers. They warn that a bad habit that appears in a certain part of society, even in a single house, if left unattended, can spread in all directions, with disastrous consequences. Indeed, today the world has become like the small ship mentioned in the hadith. Due to the rapid increase in the flow of information, the whole world is aware of an event that occurs in a distant corner of the globe in a matter of seconds. At the same time, a habit that appears in one corner of the world soon becomes a custom in another corner.

Let's not go too far, what we can't lose now - extravagance at weddings and ceremonies, showing off to the public - was originally just one person's desire for fullness. Because it was not curbed in time, this vice gradually spread and reached its current state. Such words can be said about any vice. How can we fight them? It is known that prevention is easier and more effective than treating a disease. Therefore, it is necessary to strive to eliminate any evil or bad deed as soon as it appears. Only then will it not disappear. We should also remember that the reform of the entire society begins with one person. After all, if we first turn ourselves, our family members, and then our close and distant relatives away from evil, the vices in our society will disappear by themselves. The important thing is not to be indifferent, not to say anything to me.
