It is planned to introduce the procedure for citizens of Uzbekistan to cross the borders of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan using an ID card. Earlier, such a procedure was introduced with Kyrgyzstan.
It is planned to introduce the procedure for citizens of Uzbekistan to cross the borders of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan only with an ID card. Shavkat Mirziyoyev informed about this at the meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis dedicated to the consideration of the candidate for the position of prime minister and the discussion of the program of actions of the Cabinet of Ministers for the near and long term.

"Further strengthening of good neighborly relations between Central Asian countries, ensuring regional security and stability remains a priority in foreign policy. The meeting of the "Central Asian Five" to be held in our country next year will be another huge practical step in this direction," the president noted.

It was noted that further development of effective and systematic relations with Central Asian countries and other leading partner countries, influential international and regional organizations, and financial institutions will always be in the center of attention.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that conducting effective foreign policy, expanding the circle of friends and partners, deepening regional cooperation with close neighbors is a very important task for the comprehensive development of Uzbekistan. For this purpose, the president emphasized the need to adopt a new version of the concept of foreign policy.

This procedure was introduced jointly with Kyrgyzstan from September 1, 2023.
