Syrian universities allow congregational prayers

One of the first public prayers at the Faculty of Architecture building at Damascus University was widely reported in the media.

With the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria, the situation in the field of freedom of conscience has changed rapidly. Taking advantage of religious liberalization, Muslim students have begun to organize public prayers in the buildings of educational institutions. The prayer does not take much time, it is performed during breaks and does not interfere with the learning process.
