Islamic bank and Arab funds help Tajikistan
The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has approved a $550 million project to finance the construction of the Rogun hydroelectric power station. This was reported by "Asia-Plus".
Of this, 150 million dollars will be allocated by IDB, and the remaining 400 million dollars will be allocated by Arab development funds.
Until now, ITB has participated in a number of projects worth 916 million dollars in Tajikistan. In addition, the bank is financing 7 investment projects worth 237 million dollars in the fields of energy, transport, irrigation, education and healthcare.
For information, "Rogun" HPP will become the largest HPP in Central Asia when completed. After the station is fully operational, its annual electricity production volume will be 13-17 billion kilowatt hours.
