The opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Games on July 26 is scheduled to be held on the Seine River. It will be possible to watch the parade of the Olympic teams moving along the main waterway of Paris from all the embankments and bridges. Accordingly, the opening ceremony will be free and open to the public.
The IOC also set rules for Russian and Belarusian athletes to be neutral at the Olympics: no public support for military operations in Ukraine and no affiliation with the military or state security agencies.
36 Russian and 22 Belarusian athletes are expected to participate as neutral athletes in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
A decision on whether these athletes will be allowed to participate in the closing ceremony on August 11 will be made "at a later date," the IOC said .
