"Vesti" reported that Pakistan protested to Germany after its consulate in Frankfurt was attacked by unknown persons. A group of 400 people gathered near the diplomatic mission and started throwing stones at it, after which they tore up the country's flag and trampled it.

From 5 to 10 people climbed through the wall of the consulate to its territory. It was not possible to identify them from CCTV cameras. It remains unclear what the protesters were looking for. However, in their hands was the tricolor flag of Afghanistan, which will be used until 2021.

"Pakistan strongly condemns yesterday's attack on the consulate in Frankfurt by an extremist criminal group, as well as the failure of the German authorities to protect the integrity and security of the consular premises," the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The diplomatic office noted that this incident endangered the lives of the consular staff. In addition, the Pakistan MFA cited the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, which states that the host government is responsible for protecting the sanctity of consular premises as well as ensuring the safety of diplomats. Pakistan demanded that those responsible for the incident be found and held accountable. The German side has started an investigation.
