Embossed with the Palestinian flag and the kufiya symbols, the national headdress of the Palestinians, also a symbol of freedom and resistance, the 250 ml bottle resembles a bright red Coca-Cola can, but instead of the word "Sosa" it says "Gaza".

It is noted that the taste of the new product does not differ from the traditional "cola" drink and aims to be an alternative for those who boycott the famous brand.

According to an article in Britain's Time magazine, more than 12 multinational companies that support Israel have faced massive worldwide boycotts since Israel launched its war on the Gaza Strip last year, which has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians and left large parts of Gaza uninhabitable.

Author Yasmin Sarkhan points out that Gaza-Cola is one of the new alternatives to hit the UK market this month. Another alternative is Sweden's Palestine Drinks, which was launched in March and is shipping to the EU, UK and South Africa.

The magazine also quoted Mohammad Kaswani, director of communications at Safed Foods (the company that owns the Palestine Drinks brand) as saying that interest in the fizzy drink is growing and the company did not expect such high demand. The brand has sold about 16 million cases in the past five months, he said.
