In 2023, the volume of trade between Russia and Central Asia will exceed 44 billion dollars, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikhail Galuzin said at the Valday Club conference. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
"Russia is a reliable and main trade-economic partner for the region," he said.
According to the diplomat, this confirms the consistent growth of trade.
According to the deputy minister, Russia accounts for 33% of Central Asia's foreign trade. According to him, this is mainly achieved by switching to payments in national currencies.
According to Galuzin, the volume of such settlements with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan has reached 80%. Payment in national currency with Uzbekistan was 55 percent, and with Turkmenistan 24 percent.
Earlier, we reported that the volume of mutual trade between Russia and China reached 200 billion dollars, and the use of Russian rubles and Chinese yuan in trade between the two countries was 95 percent.
