Iran is actively developing its space program and plans to send its first astronaut into space in 2028. This was reported by the Iranian mass media .

Isa Zarepour, the head of Iran's Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies, said that sending an astronaut into space is included in the 10-year plan for the development of the space sector approved last year.

"Following the successful testing of the country's next-generation biocapsule last week, in accordance with the country's 10-year space industry plan, we will move forward step by step until we reach the final goal," he wrote on his social media page.

It should be noted that last week, Iran launched a biological capsule into space on the "Salman" rocket carrier in order to test the possibility of ensuring the safety of living organisms in space, which was one of the first steps in this regard.
