About 10 citizens of Uzbekistan died in Saudi Arabia during the Hajj season of 2024. This was reported by Gazeta.uz.

It is noted that at the moment it is not clear why they died.

This year's Haj pilgrimage began on June 14 and ended on the evening of June 19. According to the Statistics Department of Saudi Arabia, 1.8 million pilgrims participated in the Hajj. A total of 15,130 pilgrims from Uzbekistan went to Saudi Arabia for Hajj.

Earlier, Saudi authorities reported that more than 1,300 people died during the 2024 Hajj season. Among the dead are several elderly people and people with chronic diseases.

In addition, Makkah experienced scorching heat during Hajj days. Thus, on June 17, the air temperature in the Azam Mosque in the city reached 51.8 degrees Celsius. It is said that pilgrims without official documents could not enter the air-conditioned facilities along the Hajj route.
