Gaza is running out of water

The water crisis in the Gaza Strip has reached a critical level. It is reported that the main Mekorot water pipeline in the Shujaiya area was damaged due to Israeli attacks. As a result, hundreds of thousands of residents are deprived of clean drinking water.

According to local authorities, 70 percent of Gaza's water supply was supplied through the northern pipeline.

According to the Palestinian Water Resources Authority and the Bureau of Statistics, more than 85 percent of the water infrastructure in the Gaza Strip is completely out of service.

Currently, the daily water consumption for the population is 3-5 liters per person, which is far below the minimum standard of 15 liters that the World Health Organization has set as essential for life in emergencies.

Currently, more than 2.3 million Gazans have been forced to flee their homes.
